Sick Boy (2013).

Sick boy is an incredibly different kind of horror movie. It certainly managed to make me sit up and take note, and has some amazing shocks and surprises contained within.

Lucy is a bride to be, but she doesn't seem to be able to hold a job down. She thinks she finds the perfect job babysitting. She soon discovers that the child she is watching is unique, as the boys rather strange mother insists that Lucy have no contact whatsoever with her child because he is ill. Lucy is only there to sit upstairs by the telephone, and make an emergency call if necessary. She is told not to go downstairs and check on the youngster under any circumstances. Of course, Lucy's curiosity gets the better of her, and this is when all hell breaks loose, but not before the tension is built up to almost unbearable levels.

I really cannot give you any more of a synopsis than what I have written here, for fear of ruining an incredibly tense and genuinely scary movie. The cast work incredibly well together, creating an air of mystery before things kick up a gear, and the horror begins.

The movie is incredibly intense, and is slow to build up. Admittedly there is very little horror up until the forty five minute mark, but the time flies by because the lead actress is incredible in her performance. The final twenty minutes or so are an incredible display of the macabre, and are practically heart stopping featuring some incredibly brutal and bloody violence.

There is also a certain part of this movie that really got to me. I actually jumped, my palms became sweaty, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I shivered uncomfortably. It's not often a movie can do that to me, but I certainly don't mind admitting it when it does.

Sick Boy does a superb job of amping up the tension to almost unbearable levels, and it certainly does not disappoint with the payoff either. This is certainly a movie that every horror fan has to see, as the story is incredible, the acting flawless, the direction fluid, the twist breathtaking and the violence sickening.
