President's Day (2010).

Enthusiasm. One of many ingredients that seem to make low budget horror films all the more fun. Couple that enthusiasm with a well paced story, decent effects and acting and you have a winner of a movie. I am pleased to let you all know that not only is President's Day one of the most enthusiastic slasher movies I have come across in a while, but it is also one of the funniest and bloodiest too. It is also entertaining as hell.

It's election time at Lincoln high, and candidates are dropping out not from peer pressure, but because a madman is stalking and dispatching candidates with an axe. Cue lots of gory deaths as students are hacked to pieces by the killer who sports a top hat and wrinkly Abraham Lincoln mask, which I found incredibly creepy.

This movie is so much fun, and is an absolute joy to sit through. The acting is typically over the top and suits the tone of the movie incredibly well. The FX are also amazing and practical, which is always a plus in my book. Blood flows freely, limbs are hacked off, heads go rolling. It's so much fun! The story is fluid and moves along at a pace that never lets things get boring. Everything about this movie just screams ENJOY ME! It is impossible to get bored, as something is always happening and keeping you interested, never allowing the viewers interest to wane.

The movie certainly has the passion, gore and humor that horror fans love. It is a huge love letter to the slasher sub genre, and for that reason, is all the more enjoyable.

Go get it and enjoy! You will not be disappointed!

Darkest regards......Dani.
